DeWanna Bonner was waived by the Indiana Fever on June 25. The Fever announced the move to waive Bonner at the same time the team said they would sign guard Aari McDonald through the remainder of the season. The Fever did not give an official reason for waiving Bonner. As part of a news release from the team, Bonner issued a statement.

To maintain ten available players, the Fever inked guard Aari McDonald to an emergency hardship contract on June 1, only to waive her on June 13 when Clark and Cunningham returned.

INDIANAPOLIS–The Indiana Fever said Wednesday morning that they have waived forward DeWanna Bonner and they have signed Aari McDonald throughout the remainder of the season.
