Good morning everyone, I wanted to reach out and get some opinions on equipment I should invest in to collect very fine flower gold. (Or equipment specifically designed to catch the micro stuff) I’m just a hobbyist right now, so I am not looking for any kind of large-scale piece of equipment...
There should be gold there from before the dam was built even in the minutest amount. People are great at extracting gold but when it reaches a point of diminishing returns the smart people move to a more productive area.

I have been prospecting the uwharries sense 1997 and have found quite abit of gold over the years. I also manufacture the uwharrie gold maps, stanly county gold and the sniper hand dredge in uwharrie. There is alot of easy diggings if youre looking for flood gold, it accumilates in alot of the inside bends and exposed bedrock.

How valuable is " 1/20 Gold Filled" jewelry? What is meant by 1/20 Gold Filled? I bought a Walking Liberty half-dollar necklace with a bezel and rope necklace that are marked with that term. Apparently this item has a gold plated Walking Liberty and the eagle on the reverse covered with glass on both sides, and was sold back in the 1970's.

The fine gold model used slanted riffles (as did the one I rebuilt), and the model for coarser material used riffles that were parallel to the stroke. If I get into gold mining, my plan is to use my mini-backhoe adapting it as needs arise. Most likely I will build a trammel and wash plant and directly load into it so that I do not have to shovel; a self-propelled wash plant if you will. But that is for gravel.
