Re: Chase “Not sufficient credit information” denial. A first Chase card is almost always a 2-bureau pull and subsequent cards may be. You should unfreeze EQ & TU and call 1-888-338-2586, find your way through the robocrap to an actual human being and explain.
Re: Can I use credit card before I get physical card? You should be able to activate your card through their app, although with most lenders only a portion of the CL will be available to spend until the physical card comes. Once you activate it, it should tell you what your temporary limit is.

When they want to see your bank account it often means your credit profile is marginal (not bad enough to trigger an automatic no, but not enough for an approval either) and they want to see if you're managing your finances and actually have plenty of money.

After that I got my score up to around 642 by Apr and got a Venture card with 5k CL and got a CLI of 1k on the platinum that same day.
